With Noel moving on (he's traveling so much these days that he doesn't have time
to devote to the website), we needed a new webmaster. Somehow that became me! Not sure how that happened . . . I've never published a website, so this is new territory. Perhaps I should have taken one step backward. I decided to start from scratch with the site, but luckily, I was able to get a lot of ideas and content from Noel's old website. I also decided to migrate to a commercial host. (No, we do not have to pay . . . but notice the 'weebly' ad at the bottom, and the '.weebly' in the address) It's tough that I won't be seeing most of the band for several weeks, so I don't have a chance to get face-to-face feedback. For that reason, I would really appreciate ideas and feedback. For now, I have a few things I would like to do. In no particular order, they include:

- Improve layout so the colors & fonts are more pleasing, etc. Not being a very artsy person (except musically, I suppose), this is probably the most difficult thing about this site.
- Create a Google Calendar. If you've never used a group Google Calendar before, you may be pleasantly surprised. Sync this with your personal Google Calendar and it automatically updates to your personal calendar with all the details of the appointments.
- I'd like to talk the directors into keeping a Director's Blog. Not that it has to be posted to much; I'd at least like all of the group e-mails to go into this Blog to help ensure everyone gets them and can refer back to them.
- I'd like to put up some tools that are actually useful to musicians in general, and band members in particular.
- I may add a 'members-only' section for members to post internal communication. Things along the lines of "Hey, Jerry, I won't be there tonight, so don't forget to bring that extra copy of the second Horn part of the Sousa march!" or "I think I left my slide oil at the last gig . . . did anyone happen to pick it up?" This section would be password-protected to keep it members-only.
